Food For Adventures was born from a simple idea: food tastes better outside. Inspired by a honeymoon trek along the John Muir Trail in 2019, founder Lee “Natty” Trebotich set out to combine his passions for outdoor adventure, culinary arts, biology, and education into something entirely unique. What started as a vision quickly grew into a business that helps people connect more deeply with nature through food, whether that’s around a camp stove on a backcountry expedition, gathered around a private dining experience, or exploring the woods on a medicinal plant walk.
Today, Food For Adventures offers a wide range of experiences that blend adventure, learning, and exceptional food. From expedition cooking and private chef services to foraging workshops, outdoor education programs, and wild food experiences, their work encourages people to slow down, explore their surroundings, and develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
In this OBA Member Spotlight, we talk with Lee about the inspiration behind Food For Adventures, the growth of the business, and how a passion for food, plants, and the outdoors has evolved into a thriving company rooted in connection, creativity, and adventure.

The Inspiration Behind Food For Adventures
The concept of Food For Adventures originated during our honeymoon hike along the John Muir Trail in 2019. The company was officially founded in 2020, offering unforgettable experiences through hands-on learning in outdoor culinary practices, foraging, and medicine making. As a former educator, cook, and biologist, I sought to merge my passions and create a unique niche unlike any other.
